"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" Cancelled By TLC After Mama June Dates Convicted Child Molester

After it was revealed that "Mama" June Shannon is dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel, TLC announced on Friday that they have cancelled the reality TV show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo."

Shannon took to her daughter Honey Boo Boo's facebook page early on Friday to dismiss reports that she is linked to the sex offender, writing: "I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors, remember you can't believe everything you read! Ppl sell stories to the tabloid(s) everyday that r false!" She went on: "It isn't true. I promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else and I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life this is my past I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn't go back."

The reality star was pictured hanging out with McDaniel inside a hotel room in June, right around the time her affair to Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson unraveled. It is unknown, however, when their relationship resumed, but McDaniel was released from prison in March after serving a 10-year prison sentence for urging an 8-year-old to perform oral sex.

Shannon was supposedly dating McDaniel at the time he abused the kid, who is related to the "Here Comes Honey Boo" star. McDaniel is currently a registered sex offender in Georgia.

According to celebrity website TMZ, TLC didn't believe Shannon's refusal and cancelled the popular reality show because they considered she was putting her children in danger. The network will also not air the new season of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," which was already filmed, but is supporting the show's young stars. "Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority," TLC explained to the outlet, adding: "TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well being."
