Jordin Sparks And Jason Derulo Open Up About Split

Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks are opening up about their sudden split.

Just in case you have missed it, the longtime pair's breakup was confirmed on Thursday.

At the time an insider revealed that Sparks, 24, was "sad" over the end of the affair, which dates back to 2011, although the celebrities didn't officially go public until 2012.

On Friday, Jordin changed her cover picture on twitter from an image of herself with Derulo, 25, to a racy solo shot of herself.

Sparks also tweeted the motto: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened," with heart emojis.

Derulo was asked about the separation with the singer during an interview with the Twin Cities radio station KDWB-FM.

"Everything is cool, man," Derulo pointed out, noting: "It's not a bad situation. You know, it's not one of those kind of things."

Rumors about the split initially sparked earlier this month when Derulo spent his birthday without Sparks and she tweeted on September 15: "I just wrote the saddest song of my life."
